When people in my life complain about “media bias” as the reason to dismiss or downplay the implications of a news story it generally sidesteps a whole discussion about what can credibly be called news vs. opinion/commentary. This whole dust-up provides a useful window into how “news” actually gets published - the reporting, editorial, legal, and business decisions that inform the process.
