If you spend way too much time on social feeds you’ll occasionally get a peak behind the algorithmic curtain. I have a Reddit account and people.com is clearly trying a new engagement strategy, but they overplayed it. All at once different morbid stories tangentially related to any subreddits subject started showing up all at once. Just a cascade of links to stories about absolute gutter level human behavior.

It’s the tabloid aisle on steroids. It’s like staring into the abyss and it winks at you.
