@lindsayfickas.bsky.social Emo (rightfully!!) is a scene that gets a lot of flack for some very, very bad guys. At the same time, it’s a counter-cultural movement born from punk, and it’s very refreshing to see that attitude alive and well.
@thebigbabooski @help The Mastadon and Threads posts look the same (no embedded links), so (with my extremely limited web development knowledge) i’m putting my wager on Activity Pub issue!
@help I noticed that when crossposting to BSKY it will allow embedded links, but Mastadon doesn’t. Is that just an AT Protocol vs. Activity Pub issue?
@nic.babarskis.blog I guess I’m thinking out loud about this because my life sits between two communities I hear repeating the line internally that the only means of protecting their values and way of life is ensuring their worldview alone informs civic priorities, and I believe we’ve got to find an alternative way.
@nic.babarskis.blog Instead of talking about the need to understand the ways our media ecosystem and sclerotic civic life (which I’d argue was partly hollowed out by short-sighed neoliberal policy priorities) incentivize raising the culture warriors banner - we end of reinforcing the very social dynamics poisoning us.
@nic.babarskis.blog By “skew my thinking” I mean that the pejorative framing bypasses the thesis of Hunter’s work, which rests on the argument that diametrically opposed immensely important personal values + modern mass media and modes of communication = intensifying cultural warfare.
@ryanburge.bsky.social Trying to have a genuine bsky conversation about the role or utility of religious observance in society:
@wcaleb Thanks! I appreciate the follow up info!
@wcaleb is that page a self-coded solution, micro.blog plugin or some other tool?
@jaheppler There is a tweets.js file in a subfolder labeled "Data" and it appears to include all my tweets
